My work explores gesture as an autonomous form of expression — where a mark is not an illustration of an idea but thought made visible. I work on paper with Chinese ink and acrylic, developing each piece through concentrated sessions in which the image emerges through the act of making rather than from a predetermined plan.
One mark leads to the next. Rhythm accumulates before meaning does. The physical act of painting becomes a process of discovery, shaped by movement, pressure, timing and the material resistance of the surface.
My practice operates in the tension between control and accident. I establish a direction, but allow the hand, the material and the moment to alter it. What emerges is neither entirely planned nor entirely arbitrary, but the result of a continuous negotiation between intention and chance.
Black dominates my work, occasionally interrupted by blue or umber. These fields are not intended as decoration or background, but as spaces in which gesture can unfold and retain its physical presence. I am interested in the trace a body leaves behind when movement is purposeful, yet the outcome remains open.
For me, gesture is both a physical act and a way of thinking. The work does not illustrate a conclusion; it records a process in which form, rhythm and meaning emerge through action.
